A Message from our President -
Phil Kubichka
Is it too early to be thankful for something this year?
I don't mean to say that you must wait for Thanksgiving to hold appreciation for someone or something around you, but we are sneaking up on the tie of year when its customary to call out to those around us and show our appreciation.
As I look back on what has all happened in our little slice of heaven, some pretty neat things did. But more importantly than being appreciative for those who passionately do all the hard work so that others can enjoy the fruits.
At first I thought I should name a few names to really call our the folks who have spearheaded some new and existing things that the Chamber has done in the last year. But as I started adding names for the folks who were their loyal helpers, spouses and maybe the 'un'lucky passerby who got sucked into helping for longer than they anticipated; that list got pretty long.
And that is the point I was trying to make in the first place. Yes, some amazing people have stepped forward to try something new, but they have seen surrounded by some more amazing people who have their backs. That's why I love this town and the people who live and work here.
So go check out the list of activities that the Chamber or one of its members is a part of. If it sounds like a good time I can assure you that it is. I'm not begging you to volunteer your time, but I'm sure if you haven't attended some of these events in the past that you will find out that they are pretty fun and will probably make a point to check out a few others.
And then who knows maybe you end up that 'un'lucky passerby spending some time making it happen.
